I’m Danie Hermes avid bird fan and wildlfie photographer. I started my “minor birdfluencer” journey on Tiktok a few years ago and now have amassed around 10k followers around various platforms and growing.
I am a mother to one very energetic son (hence the mama part of Mama Birder) and it was motherhood and a desire to see my son connect with nature in a meaningful way that brought me to birding. Now I am obsessed and hope that you join me on this journey of becoming a better and more mindful birder, while helping to build and grow future birders.

What Are YOu SHoOTING ON?
Currently I am shooting on a Sony A7RV body and my back up is an A7RIV. I tend to prefer Sony lenses for ease of compatibility. My favorite lens for birds is the Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS. Its quite a little power house for how lightweight it is. I also carry a 2x teleconverter for a little extra oomph
